Once upon a time there was a tigress who had been living in a small cell for many years. Her body was marked by severe injuries and wounds. Around them, outside the cage, the flowers bloomed, the forest smelled of freshly fallen rain. But in her pain and fear of further injuries, she rarely dared to open her eyes and look at the landscape outside her surroundings, smell or feel it.
She often roared and cried in pain, did not know how to survive another day, and at the same time she wanted nothing more than to heal her wounds, to release herself from this pain. She wanted to get out of her cage to freedom, but she couldn't walk anymore, because the long-lasting pain had numbed her body.
One day a little girl stood in front of the cage. The tigress began to roar, "Don't come near me." However, the little girl was not afraid, she just stopped and watched the wounded animal. And at some point she approached the cage door and stepped inside. The tiger roared loudly and in fear. The girl stopped, calm, safe, full of trust.
The tigers couldn't believe their eyes. What did this little girl want from her, who showed no fear at all and was getting closer and closer to her? Fear and faintness ran through her entire body. Memories arose from pain, wounds and suffering. Was this little girl trying to inflict more pain on her?
But no, what did she do? The girl just lay down next to the tigress. Very close until she could feel her skin on her fur. And then she noticed how the girl slowly nestled close to her and very carefully began to stroke her fur.
The tigress didn't know whether to roar or cry or just hold still and enjoy a little.
Did seconds, moments or hours pass? She no longer knows. She only remembers that at some point she came to rest from complete exhaustion and let the girl allow the wounds to be treated very slowly and carefully.
And the tigress said very quietly: "I trust you." And let the girl allow her to look after her full of love, trust and deep connection.
